Saint Bernard is one

According to the American Kennel Club, a male Saint Bernard can weigh up to 180 pounds and is renowned for being fiercely protective. It makes the list of strongest breeds because of its enormous size and powerful build. Saint Bernard makes a great family dog as well.

Mastiff 

Although the average Mastiff can weigh up to 230 pounds and reach around 30 inches tall, they are called gentle giants. According to the AKC, these dogs get along best with older kids despite their strength and devotion.

Rat Terrier 

Both in work and play, these dogs are active. Their strong exteriors are evidence that they have a history as working dogs. They are really playful, and they like a good game of fetch. They can make wonderful family pets in the appropriate environment.
